At this point the finish has been stripped from the hull sides , the entire interior has been removed , and then the engine , gas tank , an all mechanicals come out for complete access to the bottom .

Once that the hull is stripped of the mechanicals and interior , stands are built onto the stingers which will support the weight of the boat by the stringers in an inverted position . Holes are also drilled beside all of the frames which will act as a reference for cutting off the bottom skin without damaging the frames . What can be saved of the old frames will be used as patterns to build the new frames . One side is lifted and the other lowered in a sequence of moves until the boat is inverted and sitting on the stands .
