A few strong men were recruited one Saturday to remove the sedan top . Some 2X4's were fastened to the posts and it was parked in the back yard out of the way for a while .

The first step was to re-rib the hull . With the sedan top off the new ribs were steamed in one at a time to preserve the shape of the hull . Up forward the plywood and wood grain vinyl deck was removed to provide easier access for steaming in the ribs forward .
