Allouette :
Allouette is a thirty three foot modified Hacker design . She was built for Larry and Sue Larkin of Lake Geneva Wisconsin and commissioned in the summer of 2000 . Powered by twin 400 horse power 502 cubic inch engines . Displacing 8200 pounds she is capable of sixty miles per hour . The lines for Allouette where draw by Charles Janis . This was my first project that I used the computer for fairing the lines . The lines were faired with a program called prolines . Since this was my first major use of the computer for lofting , and I was about to cut up a lot of wood I made a small mock up by printing out the frame outlines on my printer and gluing them onto thin pieces of wood . The big drawing board under the model is a full sized lofting of the back ten feet of the hull . I drew this part full size , because at the time I did not have the software ( or the know how ) to " expand " the shape of the curved and raked transom with the computer. |
