The first step is to draw up a set of plans . The frame plan shows the
shape and spacing of every structural member . I do all of my drawings
using CAD ( computer aided design ) which allows the component parts
to be output to a CAM ( computer aided manufacturing ) program .

The frames will be milled from mahogany . The wood is roughed out
about an inch oversize before being placed on the shopbot CNC
router .

I cut a shallow groove into the MDF spoil board that shows where the
outline of the frames will be cut before fastening the roughed out
mahogany frame stock to the spoil board for cutting .
