The covering boards were sawn out of a large mahogany plank .
After the curves were cut out the boards were re-sawn to make book
matched port and starboard sides .

The cockpit curves were framed , and the hatch frames made at this
point so that the hatch contours could be faired into the deck .
The decking is all made of individual strips milled from another large
mahogany plank . The strips are edge nailed to each other with
stainless steel nails . The objective is to fasten all of the decking
on with no visible fasteners of plugs .
