The hardware finally arrives back from the chrome shop and the boat
begins to go together . At this point a lot of people figure that an
afternoons work will see the boat in the water . In fact it's actually
a very painstaking process . Quite often the chrome winds up in the
threads , and has to be removed with small files .Or heaven forbid ,
the chrome shop misplaces something . And then there are a lot
of parts like the exhaust and gas cap that require boring large holes
in that virgin hull with 12 coats of varnish on it . The downside risk
is pretty big , so at this point I measure three or four times before
doing anything .

The windshield is a particularly intricate piece of hardware
composed of several pieces .
