

The deck carlings installed , and the frames notched for the side
battens that will back up the plank seams.

In the foreground are the roughed out planks .All of the planking was
cut out of two inch thick stock and then the planks were re-sawn to
make a port and starboard for each strake .


After the planking is complete , the screw holes are plugged with
plugs cut from the corresponding plank scraps , and the planking
faired with a spoke shave , followed by a straight line sander . The
next step is to plane down the sheer and start on the deck framing .
