The last layer of the transom was installed at the bottom so that the bottom planks could run past the transom . The top of the transom will be finished after the sides are put on .

 

After all of the planks are installed they are faired off with a hand plane then sanded down to # 100 grit sandpaper . The wood is then sealed with three coats of clear penetrating sealer and two coats of high build primer .
