The engines arrived before the back deck was finished . It's a good time to place them in the boat because even though everything is handled very carefully and with the utmost respect for gravity the head room clearances are going to be pretty tight here and that extra five eighths of an inch might make all of the difference / The boat is placed on casters so that it can be rolled under the engine once that the engine is in the air . With the lifting chain as tight as possible on the engine , and the chain block as high as it can go on the gantry , the boat is rolled under the engine with half an inch to spare on the back seat carling . Even though the CAD drawings have been a great help in determining the placement and alighnment . There is no substitute for having the engine in place to check the fits of seats , motor boxes and exhaust . The engines will be wrapped up with plastic until the rest of the woodwork is completed .
