And now for something completely different ! A request was made to disguise an electrically powered seat into the interior that would provide easy access . When I first heard the request , my initial thought was that some people watch too many James Bond movies . After an incredible amount of head scratching and mock ups that didn't work this is the end result . In the initial position the seat blends into the interior .
The second phase . Two of the pleats are disguised flip down arm rests , and the seat is a section that pulls forward to clear the crash pad .
After the seat is clear of the crash pad an electric actuator powers the seat vertically through two linear lift sections for a total lift of three feet .
Once in the upper position the seat rotates for entry and exit .
