I occurred to me at the ramp that there were no Canadian registration numbers on the boat when I noticed about twenty Ontario Provincial police doing their spring marine training at the launch ramp . I think that they were to busy looking at the boat to notice the lack of numbers . Bill Gage , who was emphatic about the ergonomics of the helm , finally gets to try it out first hand .
Unfortunately there wasn't an opportunity to take pictures from a second boat this time . I'll have to wait for one from Lake Geneva . The sea trial went very well and after a few minor adjustments the boat will be on her way to Lake Geneva Wisconsin .
My initial intention in doing this web page was to give people a better understanding of what is involved from start to finish in building a boat . I find that the easiest people to work for are people who have at one time or another worked on their own boat and have learned first hand that it's not quite as simple as turning money into matter . In today's age of instant gratification it's not too often that people are prepared to wait for what they really want , but instead settle for what they can have now and learn to live with lowered expectations . It has occurred to me while reviewing this section that you can click through pictures of this boat being built from start to finish in about twenty minutes . The reality is that I've grown a few more grey hairs since the whole thing began . |
